The proposal for the Central Library aims to articulate the urban areas and its surroundings. Without compromising the natural resources of the place, the goal is for the building to become an integral part of the urban fabric.
The building is a consequence of the interaction with the place, without disappearing in its site. The project is carried out with clear environmental goals and accessibility for handicapped people, the cost of maintenance is taken in account. The building respects the most modern concepts of ecology, and energy efficiency using renewable energy, like the use of natural ventilation and solar panels.
The presented solution is developed according to the following key factors: the relationship of the environment and the urban landscape, transparency, interior/ exterior, adaptability, functionality, mobility and accessibility.
