Seafront Estoril Bar

This project by Contacto Atlântico transforms a former beach café in Estoril into a contemporary, organic structure in harmony with the surrounding coastal landscape. Located along the iconic shoreline between Cascais and São João do Estoril, the building becomes a new gathering point on the Atlantic front.

A white, undulating canopy defines the main architectural gesture, creating an accessible walking rooftop that functions as a viewpoint, amphitheatre, and social space. Beneath this structure, a linear glass volume houses the bar and restaurant services, with outdoor terraces that are both sheltered and open to the sea.

Inspired by the idea of a “bar by the sea,” this project merges form and function into a sustainable, integrated proposal that strengthens the relationship between architecture, public space, and landscape.
