Museum of Budapeste
Description
The Museum of Budapeste project was part of a global competition to create a new cultural center next to the City Park. The plan involved the construction and adaptation of six museums and galleries. Our proposal focused on the Museum of Architecture and the Museum of Photography, with a total construction area of 15,141 m².
The concept of the Museum of Budapeste project was to create two independent buildings with a shared architectural language and a strong connection to the site. The design highlighted the “Rondo” and the 1956 Revolution Memorial located at the center of the monumental complex. Although both buildings share a common style, their volumes differ due to programmatic needs and the goal of preserving the park’s century-old trees.
Sustainability and interior light control were central concerns throughout the process. The proposal incorporated exterior wooden shading blades as a passive solution for solar protection and environmental regulation.
