Quinta in Évora

Description

Quinta in Évora is an architectural project by Contacto Atlântico that merges functional rehabilitation with a contemporary language embedded in the Alentejo landscape. Located on a large estate near Évora, this intervention involves the transformation of multiple residential and support buildings, while preserving the rural identity of the property.

The architectural proposal includes the renovation of three main houses—residential, atelier, and guest accommodation—resulting in a total gross area of over 1,400 m². The project also features equestrian boxes, a riding arena, a swimming pool, outdoor kitchen, changing rooms, and a tennis court, forming a fully equipped residential and equestrian complex.

The plan for Quinta in Évora prioritizes the use of traditional materials such as lime plaster, wood, and local stone, combined with modern systems for climate control, security, and energy efficiency. The buildings follow the natural topography of the site and enhance solar exposure, ensuring thermal comfort and a strong connection to the outdoors.
