House in Lapa II
Description
The House in Lapa II is located in one of Lisbon’s most prestigious neighborhoods, Lapa. Known for its family character, quiet, tree-lined streets, the area is complemented by iconic urban parks such as Jardim da Estrela and Santos. This building, with 3 floors and attic space above ground, also includes a basement. Originally, it served as a residence for members of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception.
The aim of the project was to rehabilitate the building, which had become worn and functionally inadequate. The proposal integrated innovative and sustainable solutions, revitalizing the urban fabric of Lapa and improving the building’s living conditions and functionality.
With the remodel, the interior spaces were reorganized, creating larger social and private areas. The resulting home blends modern living comfort with technical and functional solutions. The House in Lapa II project proposed a clear distinction of 3 areas: social, private, and leisure.
