CAIS 5

Cais 5 is conceived as a benchmark in contemporary architecture in Portugal, designed to achieve WELL Gold and LEED Gold certifications. The project places wellbeing, health, efficiency, and environmental responsibility at the core of its architectural strategy. Developed beyond the scope of a conventional office building, it supports creativity, collaboration, and daily inspiration, reflecting a forward-thinking approach to high-end architecture in Lisbon’s evolving business landscape.

The office floors are designed with flexibility in mind, offering a range of layouts and adaptable areas that accommodate diverse working environments. This spatial versatility allows for simple reconfiguration, ensuring long-term usability and responsiveness to changing needs. The building comprises eight floors above ground and three basement levels dedicated to parking and technical infrastructure, reinforcing both functionality and performance.

Workspace Design, Light and Experience

A defining feature of the project is the seventh floor, where a circulation corridor leads to a roof terrace. This elevated space offers panoramic views over Lisbon, connecting users with the historic neighbourhoods of Chiado and Bairro Alto to the north and the River Tagus to the south. This relationship between interior and exterior enhances the daily experience and reinforces the importance of light, openness, and perspective within the workplace.

The design reflects a careful balance between efficiency and comfort. The integration of environmental strategies and spatial quality contributes to a healthier and more engaging work environment. This approach highlights the importance of office architecture that prioritises both performance and user wellbeing, aligning with the highest contemporary standards.
