Deep Blue
Description
Deep Blue is a seafood restaurant in central Lisbon, a few metres from the century-old olive tree where Saramago rests. The design takes cues from classic French seafood houses and pairs them with a Portuguese menu. As a result, the mood moves between French bohemia and Portuguese saudade.
Deep blue tones wrap the room and suggest the sea. Timber slats and stone tables add weight and quality. In the evening, the space feels calm and welcoming, like the comfort of a ship in rough waters.
Lighting plays a key role. Vintage-inspired fittings with golden chains and glass globes create a refined setting and soften transitions. In addition, mirrors, brass details and layered textiles bring light and depth to the composition. Altogether, Deep Blue blends tradition, materiality and comfort in the heart of Lisbon, offering an intimate dining experience with a clear sense of place.
