First Class Wine Bar
Description
The First Class Wine Bar, located within Porto Airport, represents a refined intervention in contemporary architecture in Portugal, where identity, experience, and functionality are carefully aligned. Designed by Contacto Atlântico, a top architecture firm in Portugal, the project reflects the principles of high-end architecture, translating Portuguese culture into a compact and sophisticated spatial concept.
Positioned as both the first and last point of contact for travellers, the space is conceived to offer a calm and welcoming environment, reinforcing a strong connection to Portuguese wine and hospitality. With an area of 99.3 m², the project balances clarity of layout with a distinct atmosphere.
Architectural Design, Materiality and Experience
The design is structured around a central counter that organises service and tasting, establishing a clear and intuitive flow. Circulation is simple and legible, allowing users to move naturally through the space while engaging with the product.
Materiality defines the character of the interior. Wood and deep green tones create a warm and elegant backdrop, reinforcing the identity of the space. Bespoke furniture and carefully positioned display elements guide the visitor experience, ensuring order and visual clarity.
Lighting is integrated with precision, enhancing colour and texture without glare. This approach ensures that the focus remains on the product, while contributing to a comfortable and refined atmosphere.
Leading Architecture Firm in Portugal: Identity, Culture and Retail Experience
The relationship between architecture and brand identity is central to the First Class Wine Bar, ensuring that the space communicates a clear and authentic representation of Portuguese wine culture.
By combining tasting areas, comfortable seating, and a strong visual identity within a compact footprint, the project transforms a commercial unit into a curated experience. As part of Contacto Atlântico’s portfolio, it reinforces the studio’s position as a leading architecture firm in Portugal, recognised for delivering precise and experience-driven retail environments.
