Giulietta Pizzeria & Cucina Vegan
Description
Giulietta Pizzeria & Cucina Vegan is a rehabilitation and interior design project that reflects a refined approach to contemporary architecture in Portugal, where spatial clarity, functionality, and identity are carefully aligned. Designed by Contacto Atlântico, a top architecture firm in Portugal, the project focuses on creating a contemporary dining environment centred on vegetarian and vegan cuisine, translating sustainable values into a coherent architectural language. This approach follows the principles of high-end architecture, where efficiency and atmosphere are balanced with precision.
With an area of approximately 100 m², the space is organised to maximise usability and comfort. The layout is clearly divided into a professional kitchen, a warm and welcoming dining room, and an exterior terrace set on a wooden deck. This organisation ensures an efficient operational flow while maintaining a strong and legible spatial structure.
Architectural Design, Materiality and Urban Presence
Large glazed openings establish a direct connection between the interior and the street, enhancing transparency and inviting natural light into the space. The façade is defined by red awnings and planters with greenery, elements that reinforce the restaurant’s identity and presence within the urban context.
Inside, the project is guided by a light and controlled architectural language. Natural materials are carefully selected to create a balanced and comfortable environment, where materiality plays a central role in shaping the experience. Soft lighting contributes to a calm atmosphere, enhancing the perception of space and supporting a relaxed dining experience.
The combination of interior and exterior areas strengthens the relationship between the restaurant and the city, allowing the terrace to function as an extension of the dining space. This continuity enhances both usability and spatial coherence.
