Graça Hub

Graça Hub sits on a block between Rua da Penha de França and Rua António Maria Baptista, on the former Fábrica Favorita site. The project brings housing, retail and services together and opens the interior of the block to the city with a new square, a viewpoint, pedestrian links and green areas.

The volumes rise four to five storeys and align with the surrounding roofline. A new shared street connects both fronts and improves accessibility and safety. Parking moves to basement levels which frees the surface for shade, benches and trees. Thus, routes become clear and public space gains everyday use.

As a whole, Graça Hub strengthens neighbourhood life, increases soil permeability and reinforces the relationship with the western landscape. Finally, it combines local retail and quality housing in a coherent and legible urban layout.
