The Green Affair Duque d’Avila

Description

Located in Saldanha, one of Lisbon’s most dynamic dining districts, The Green Affair Vegan Restaurant presents a distinctive approach to contemporary architecture in Portugal, where identity, atmosphere, and material expression are carefully integrated. Designed by Contacto Atlântico, a top architecture firm in Portugal, the project reflects the principles of high-end architecture, translating the brand’s values into a coherent and immersive spatial experience.

The historic blue façade, complemented by a gold metal flag at the entrance, establishes a strong urban presence and anticipates the character of the interior. This transition from exterior to interior is deliberate, creating a clear and recognisable identity within the city.

Architectural Design, Materiality and Atmosphere

Inside, the project is defined by a balanced combination of wood, stone, and steel, articulated through a green and brown palette that reinforces a connection to nature. This composition allows the brand’s identity to extend consistently across all spaces, creating a unified architectural language where materiality plays a central role.

Variations in ceiling height and geometry introduce spatial diversity, while a careful mix of finishes defines different atmospheres throughout the restaurant. Tropical textured wallpaper and geometric timber elements contribute to this layered experience, creating distinct yet cohesive environments.

Furniture and detailing reinforce the overall concept. Green natural stone tables, wooden chairs, and dark leather sofas introduce contrast and comfort, while mirror compositions expand spatial perception. Warm golden lighting adds depth and softness, enhancing the atmosphere and contributing to a refined and welcoming setting.

Leading Architecture Firm in Portugal: Identity and Experience

The relationship between architecture and brand identity is central to the project, ensuring that every element contributes to a consistent and recognisable experience. The design balances strong tones with soft textures, creating an intimate environment defined by comfort and elegance.

The Green Affair Saldanha stands as a clear example of how architecture can shape hospitality spaces through precision and coherence. As part of Contacto Atlântico’s portfolio, it reinforces the studio’s position as a leading architecture firm in Portugal, recognised for delivering sophisticated and experience-driven design solutions.
