Jamie’s Italian Restaurant

Description

Contacto Atlântico was responsible for the architectural renovation of Jamie’s Italian restaurant in Príncipe Real, Lisbon. The project adapted a set of commercial spaces to host a signature restaurant by chef Jamie Oliver, balancing technical functionality with heritage preservation.

Spread over three main floors (–1, 0, and 1), the intervention covered approximately 744 m², with an additional parking level at –2. The layout includes an open-view kitchen, customer dining areas, support and staff zones, accessible bathrooms, and storage. Transparency between kitchen and clients was a central element of the concept, reinforcing trust and engagement.

The main façade, facing Praça do Príncipe Real, was fully preserved. New glass doors with white-lacquered wooden frames maintained the architectural coherence of the building and the surrounding heritage. Technical systems included advanced HVAC, smoke extraction, and odor filtration with high-efficiency equipment.

The intervention complied with Lisbon’s urban regulations, including archaeological considerations. Accessibility was ensured through mobile ramps and solutions aligned with current legal standards. This project highlights Contacto Atlântico’s ability to combine functionality, technical rigor, and user experience in commercial renovations.
