Palácio Teles de Menezes, located on Rua da Escola Politécnica in the historic heart of Lisbon, is a notable example of Portuguese architecture. Contacto Atlântico’s intervention in this property, classified as a Site of Public Interest, aims for the integral rehabilitation of the building, restoring its original character and adapting it to contemporary standards of comfort and functionality.

The project rests on the preservation and enhancement of existing architectural and decorative elements such as the grand staircase, decorative plasterwork, joinery and tile panels, while discreetly integrating modern infrastructure to support contemporary living. The proposal respects the morphology and spatial hierarchy of the palace, ensuring a coherent reading between memory and contemporaneity.

Work in the exterior spaces requalifies the generous courtyards and gardens, restoring the dignity of the ensemble and re establishing the visual and functional connection between the palace and its surrounding grounds. The approach combines principles of heritage rehabilitation, sustainability and technical innovation.
