Peru Villa
Description
Peru Villa is set within a consolidated hilltop landscape, where the project explores a refined approach to contemporary architecture in Portugal, prioritising the relationship between built form and natural surroundings. Designed by Contacto Atlântico, a top architecture firm in Portugal, the project reflects the principles of high-end architecture, where clarity of concept, spatial diversity, and landscape integration define the design.
The occupation of the plot establishes a strong visual presence while remaining grounded in the terrain. The proposal introduces a new way of living in a natural context, where architecture frames and enhances the surrounding landscape.
Architectural Design, Materiality and Spatial Composition
The design concept is structured around the cube as a primary geometric element. Each functional programme is assigned to an individual volume, separating private, service, and social areas into distinct architectural components. This organisation creates clarity while allowing each space to develop its own identity.
To connect these volumes, the project introduces two additional elements with distinct materiality, marking transitions between different areas of the house. These connecting volumes reinforce movement and hierarchy within the spatial sequence.
Materiality plays a central role in articulating these relationships, distinguishing between volumes while maintaining coherence across the project. The system allows for varied openings and orientations, creating rooms with different exposures to sunlight. This results in a dynamic spatial experience that evolves throughout the day.
Leading Architecture Firm in Portugal: Landscape, Living and Experience
The relationship between architecture and landscape is central to Peru Villa, ensuring that all principal spaces open towards the surrounding views. The design balances diversity and coherence, creating an environment that supports both work and leisure.
Generous rooms oriented toward the landscape establish a strong connection with the exterior, while the overall composition maintains clarity and restraint. Peru Villa stands as a clear example of how architecture can structure experience through geometry, light, and context.
As part of Contacto Atlântico’s portfolio, it reinforces the studio’s position as a leading architecture firm in Portugal, recognised for delivering sophisticated and context-driven residential projects.
