The Green Affair Restaurant Expo
Description
The Green Affair Restaurant, located in Parque das Nações in Lisbon, is set within a palatial building and presents a refined interpretation of contemporary architecture in Portugal applied to hospitality. Designed by Contacto Atlântico, a top architecture firm in Portugal, the project creates a warm, relaxed, and welcoming environment for vegetarian dining, translating the brand’s identity into a coherent spatial experience. This approach reflects the principles of high-end architecture, where atmosphere, materiality, and user experience are carefully aligned.
The concept is developed in direct response to the existing space, allowing the architecture to enhance the character of the building while introducing a contemporary and balanced interior language.
Architectural Design, Materiality and Atmosphere
The interior is defined by a palette of earthy tones, where browns and deep greens envelop the space and establish a calm and grounded atmosphere. These colours reinforce the connection to nature, a key aspect of the brand’s identity. A timber floor in varied tones acts as a unifying element, guiding movement and adding warmth throughout the interior.
Lighting plays a central role in shaping the experience. Golden tones are carefully introduced and vary along the spatial sequence, creating subtle transitions between areas and enhancing the perception of depth. This controlled use of light highlights the importance of materiality in defining both atmosphere and spatial identity.
The restaurant is organised into three distinct areas. The entrance space functions as a small bar, creating a welcoming transition into the interior. The following two spaces are characterised by the use of materials such as steel and mirrors, which line the rooms and introduce reflection, depth, and a sense of elegance. These elements contribute to a layered and dynamic interior composition.
Leading Architecture Firm in Portugal: Identity and Experience
The relationship between architecture and atmosphere is central to the project, ensuring that each element contributes to a cohesive and recognisable identity. The design encourages a calm and unhurried experience, where spatial organisation, materials, and lighting work together to support comfort and continuity.
The Green Affair Parque das Nações stands as a clear example of how architecture can elevate dining environments through precision and sensitivity. As part of Contacto Atlântico’s portfolio, it reinforces the studio’s position as a leading architecture firm in Portugal, recognised for delivering sophisticated and experience-driven design solutions.
