Vila Real de Santo António

The main objective of the project is to recreate the matrix and proportions of the old city with a contemporary image, prioritizing the views and the relationship with the Guadiana River.

Thus, just as the project aims to adapt to the urban plan, it also clearly defines public and private spaces to ensure the security of the new complex while inviting the city’s residents to experience a new riverfront.

The design, materials, and colors chosen for the buildings reinterpret the vernacular architecture of southern Portugal.
