APPII
Description
Located in the iconic Amoreiras Towers in Lisbon, the renovation of the APPII office reflects a precise approach to contemporary architecture in Portugal, where spatial clarity and functional organisation define the project. Designed as a refined workplace environment, the proposal establishes two distinct yet interconnected areas, separated by a flexible glass plane. This element allows a clear division between work and reception areas and the meeting room, while maintaining visual continuity and openness, in line with the principles of high-end architecture.
The design is guided by the need to create a balanced and efficient workspace, where each zone responds to specific functional requirements without compromising the overall architectural coherence. The use of transparency ensures adaptability and reinforces the relationship between spaces, contributing to a fluid and contemporary office environment.
Spatial Design, Materiality and Light
The first area is defined by the use of wood and bespoke joinery, establishing a clear spatial hierarchy aligned with the organisation of workstations. This approach enhances both functionality and comfort, creating a structured and efficient working environment. The careful integration of custom elements reflects a strong attention to materiality, ensuring consistency and refinement across the space.
The second area, larger in scale, is conceived as a social and meeting zone. Here, a neutral colour palette defines a calmer and more open atmosphere, encouraging interaction and flexibility. This contrast between the two spaces introduces a subtle balance between intimacy and openness, reinforcing the architectural clarity of the project.
Natural light plays a central role in both areas, enhancing spatial perception and reinforcing the connection with the surrounding city. The privileged views over Lisbon contribute to a high-quality working environment, where light and context are integral to the overall experience.
Leading Architecture Firm in Portugal: Workspace Experience
The relationship between architecture and workspace is central to the project, ensuring that design decisions support both productivity and user wellbeing. The articulation between materials, layout, and light creates a cohesive and adaptable environment that responds to contemporary office demands.
As part of Contacto Atlântico’s portfolio, the APPII office reinforces the studio’s position as a leading architecture firm in Portugal, recognised for delivering refined and functional workplace solutions. The project stands as a clear example of how architectural precision and thoughtful design can transform office environments into spaces that are both efficient and architecturally distinctive.
