A project that blends sophistication with Alentejo identity

Villa Talha was designed following a clear brief from the clients: to create a home that reflects a strong connection to the Alentejo region while embracing a contemporary architectural language.

The concept draws inspiration from traditional clay vessels associated with local wine culture. This reference becomes a guiding element throughout the project, shaping both the architectural approach and the selection of materials.

Architecture shaped by its surroundings

Set on a plot of over 2,000 square meters, the house is composed of three volumes of varying heights, arranged in an “H” configuration. This layout creates a balanced relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, ensuring privacy while maintaining fluid circulation.

The design is rooted in traditional Alentejo architecture, reinterpreted in a clean and contemporary way. Simple lines, white volumes and a strong connection to the landscape define the overall aesthetic.

Light, space and indoor-outdoor living

The spatial organization prioritizes comfort and connection with the outdoors. The four suites are distributed across two floors, arranged around a small courtyard with a tree that acts as a transition element between spaces.

Inside, a semi-circular staircase stands out as a sculptural feature, accompanying the double-height space along the glazed façade. Natural light plays a central role, filling the interiors and enhancing the sense of openness.

The social area combines kitchen, dining and living spaces, all with direct access to the exterior. A pergola by the pool creates a shaded outdoor dining area, reinforcing the seamless connection between inside and outside.

Materials and landscape integration

Material choices reinforce the project’s identity. Neutral tones, natural textures and terracotta elements contribute to a harmonious integration with the surrounding landscape.

Mediterranean vegetation completes this setting, establishing a continuous dialogue between architecture and nature. The result is a home that respects its context while meeting contemporary standards of comfort and functionality.

Recognition that strengthens Contacto Atlântico’s positioning

Being featured in Anteprojectos magazine reinforces Contacto Atlântico’s position as a reference studio in contemporary architecture, known for delivering projects that balance context, innovation and detail.

With an integrated approach that combines architecture, engineering, interior design and landscape architecture, the studio continues to operate both nationally and internationally, maintaining a strong focus on quality, efficiency and tailored solutions.
