Avenidas Novas

The Avenidas Novas project, in Lisbon, reorganises an apartment with a direct view of Marquês de Pombal and close proximity to Avenida da Liberdade. It keeps the wet areas from the original plan and redefines the remaining spaces for new uses and routines. The main change creates a clear distinction between the social area and the private area. Selective removal of walls increases openness and light, bringing the kitchen, dining room, study and fireplace area into a more continuous living experience.

In terms of materiality, the design favours wood and stone, which add elegance and sophistication. Durable finishes ensure comfort and a calm reading of the interiors. Thus, the Avenidas Novas project expresses a comfortable, contemporary way of living in central Lisbon.
