Villa Brisa is a single-family T4 house located at the Herdade da Costa Terra Golf & Ocean Club, in Melides, designed by Contacto Atlântico. Inspired by traditional Alentejo architecture, the house articulates local elements with contemporary construction solutions.

Distributed over three floors (one above and two below ground level), the house is organised into two distinct volumes: the private area to the west and the social areas to the east. Materials, tones and forms were conceived in continuity with the surrounding landscape, maintaining a dialogue between modernity and regional identity. Elements such as pergolas, shaded planes and the presence of an olive tree at the entrance reinforce the connection to the place. The swimming pool and jacuzzi also reinterpret the traditional Alentejo water tanks.

Clad in light-coloured rounded pebbles, in tones similar to the sands of the region, the building stands out for its façades and flat roof terraces. The chimney evokes traditional Alentejo architecture, while the outdoor patio and large glazed openings reinforce the connection between interior spaces and the landscape.

Each space seeks to combine balance with comfort, sophistication and functionality — from the social areas to the suites, including leisure spaces such as the wine cellar, cinema and gym. The landscape design complements the architectural vision through a low-maintenance garden that respects and reflects the surrounding natural ecosystems.

“The house adopts a language characterised by the symbiosis between Alentejo vernacular architecture and a more contemporary approach, reflecting the passage of time and history through a space that adapts to the lifestyles and environments of modern times,” assures André Caiado, architect and CEO of Contacto Atlântico.

Still under development, the Villa Brisa plot is bordered by a private green area, with the estate’s golf course located to the south. The total gross construction area is 475.321 m², while the building footprint corresponds to 267.593 m².
