The Avenidas Novas project, located in central Lisbon with direct views over Marquês de Pombal and close proximity to Avenida da Liberdade, reflects a refined intervention within contemporary architecture in Portugal. The intervention reorganises an existing apartment while preserving the original wet areas, ensuring efficiency in construction and coherence with the existing infrastructure. The remaining spaces are redefined to respond to new routines and contemporary ways of living.

Selective removal of partitions increases openness and allows natural light to flow more freely throughout the apartment. The kitchen, dining area, study, and fireplace zone are brought together into a continuous living space, creating a more fluid and connected experience.
