Jamor Offices

Description

Jamor Offices benefits from a privileged setting with open views over the Jamor valley and the River Tagus, establishing a strong connection between workplace and landscape. This intervention represents a strategic transformation within contemporary architecture in Portugal, converting a former logistics building into a dynamic and adaptable workspace. Designed by Contacto Atlântico, a top architecture firm in Portugal, the project responds to evolving ways of working, where flexibility, comfort, and identity are essential. It reflects a clear commitment to high-end architecture, where spatial quality and user experience are carefully prioritised.

The building is reimagined across five storeys above ground, with a total area exceeding 11,450 m². The design introduces flexible, bright, and welcoming environments that support a variety of working modes. From shared areas to informal lounges, a gym, and a restaurant overlooking the landscape, every space is conceived to enhance wellbeing and daily use, reinforcing a contemporary vision of office architecture.

Architectural Design, Materiality and Wellbeing

The façade plays a key role in defining the building’s renewed identity. A system of vertical elements establishes rhythm and lightness while contributing to thermal comfort. This approach gives the building a strong and coherent presence within its context, balancing performance and architectural expression.

Inside, the project combines natural materials with advanced technical solutions. The use of timber and stone reinforces a warm and tactile environment, creating a contrast with the precision of contemporary systems. This balance highlights the importance of materiality in shaping spaces that are both functional and engaging.

Natural light and spatial openness are central to the design, ensuring that work environments are comfortable and adaptable. The integration of shared amenities enhances the sense of community, supporting collaboration and informal interaction. These elements contribute to a workplace that extends beyond efficiency, focusing on quality of experience.

Leading Architecture Firm in Portugal: Workspace and Landscape

The relationship between architecture and landscape is fundamental to the project, allowing the building to engage directly with its surroundings. Views, orientation, and spatial organisation are carefully aligned to maximise this connection, creating a workplace that is both inspiring and grounded in its context.

Jamor Offices goes beyond the definition of a conventional office building. It establishes a new meeting point between architecture, nature, and innovation, offering a space designed for work, exchange, and inspiration. As part of Contacto Atlântico’s portfolio, it reinforces the studio’s position as a leading architecture firm in Portugal, recognised for delivering forward-thinking and enduring architectural solutions.
